Your best skin care diet to combat Winter’s challenge~

Here comes the whistling winds bringing dryness and loss of humidity with it. Also, you are experiencing early morning chill, hazy-bit-of-sunshine days, cool, clear nights heated which brings de-hydration (water-loss) to our skin~both facial and entire body inside as well as out.  And notice how your hair, nails, and over-all usual glow seems diminished a bit, or a lot…what are we all to do?  Winter’s uniqueness is being the season bringing deeper contemplation and quiet time at the same time that Mother Nature is resting, restoring, and preparing for next Spring’s bloom…the same as we are.

It makes good sense to follow the clues from Nature as to how to best survive the changes in temperatures accompanying rain and storms, chilly winds, and less daylight. Your Nutritional Needs are of utmost importance during this season, and well-known health dictates like drinking warm~hot liquids (as well as avoiding ice-cold liquids/drinks) will assist the body both in keeping a consistent body temp and equally important–supporting the body’s functioning by hydrating our brains plus our entire digestive/elimination/circulatory/respiratory systems.

Simple whole-grains for breakfast and side dishes, legumes, sustainable proteins, non-soy and non-gluten products, daily use of 1-2 Tablespoons of healthy oil choices like Avocado, Sunflower, Olive, Hazelnut, Sesame, 1-2 servings of non-dairy products like nut milks and cultured products with acidophilus like certain yogurt and cheese, seasonal fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, herbs, spices, pure Grade B Maple Syrup as sweetener, and lots of liquids like soups, herbal teas, warm water with a wedge of lemon squeezed in, vegetable juices, thin-consistency smoothies (non-soy, collagen protein powder optional yet suggested to help fuel the body while its using all its resources to stay warm)…this is my curated highly recommended “Simple Survival Diet”TM created to meet Winter’s challenge of staying healthy and therefore, happy 🙂
